SEC Saturday Wire is a community-powered SEC college football site. AI helps us move faster, but fans, contributors, and editors help keep the coverage accurate, useful, and worth reading.

Rivalries are welcome. Harassment, rumors, and nonsense are not.

1. Participate in Good Faith

Bring opinions, analysis, debate, predictions, and passion for your team.

Do not use SEC Saturday Wire to harass people, settle personal grudges, organize attacks, spread false rumors, or damage someone’s reputation.

Criticize performances, coaching decisions, roster moves, and public statements all you want. Do not make it personal.

2. Accuracy Matters More Than Being First

SEC Saturday Wire welcomes corrections from readers.

Use the Suggest Correction feature when you can identify:

• The specific statement that appears incorrect
• Why it is incorrect
• A credible source or supporting evidence
• The correction you believe should be made

A correction is not the same as a disagreement.

Examples of things that are not corrections:

• “Your ranking is terrible.”
• “My team is better than your team.”
• “I think this player will start.”
• “Everyone knows this coach is washed.”

We may accept, reject, revise, or request more information on any correction submission. Approved corrections may be reflected in the article or added to a public correction note.

3. AI Assistance Is Welcome—Fake Reporting Is Not

Contributors may use AI tools for brainstorming, outlining, editing, grammar, headline ideas, research organization, and first drafts.

You are still responsible for every fact you submit.

Do not submit AI-generated material that includes:

• Fabricated quotes
• Fake sources or links
• Invented statistics
• False injury information
• Made-up recruiting news
• False transfer portal claims
• Unverified allegations presented as fact
• Fake interviews, screenshots, audio, or social posts

AI-assisted content may be labeled or edited before publication.

4. Submit Original Work

Only submit writing, images, graphics, or media that you created or have permission to use.

Do not submit:

• Copied articles from another publication
• Paywalled content or screenshots of paid reporting
• Stolen photos, game clips, graphics, or video
• Articles rewritten line-by-line from another source
• Content generated to impersonate a reporter, coach, player, recruit, or school official

Sources and links are encouraged. Plagiarism is not.

5. Protect Players, Recruits, Coaches, and Families

Do not post private personal information, including home addresses, phone numbers, private email addresses, travel plans, family details, medical records, or other sensitive information.

Do not target or harass players, recruits, coaches, staff members, journalists, families, or other users.

Extra care is required with high-school recruits and minors. Use only publicly available, relevant sports information. Never post private school schedules, personal contact information, or family details.

Do not publish unverified claims involving injuries, discipline, criminal allegations, academics, or personal relationships.

6. Rivalries Are Fun. Hate Is Not.

SEC football is built on rivalries. Trash talk is fine when it stays about the game.

The following are not allowed:

• Hate speech or slurs
• Threats or wishes of harm
• Sexual harassment
• Racist, religious, gender-based, disability-based, or identity-based attacks
• Encouraging self-harm or violence
• Repeated personal insults
• Coordinated harassment or brigading

Keep it sharp. Keep it funny. Keep it about football.

7. Be Honest About Connections

If you have a financial, family, school, agency, NIL, sponsorship, business, or other meaningful connection to a player, recruit, coach, school, brand, or product discussed in your submission, disclose it.

Sponsored posts, affiliate links, paid partnerships, and promotional content must be clearly labeled.

Do not disguise advertising as independent reporting.

8. No Spam, Manipulation, or Fake Engagement

Do not use bots, fake accounts, bought engagement, copied comments, misleading links, or automated spam.

Do not organize users to flood correction requests, polls, comments, rankings, or submissions simply because they support one team.

One fan base does not get to “vote away” a fact.

9. Editors Have Final Say

SEC Saturday Wire may edit, label, fact-check, delay, reject, remove, or update any contribution, comment, correction, profile, or post.

We may restrict or remove accounts for violations, including:

• Warning
• Content removal
• Temporary suspension
• Loss of contributor privileges
• Permanent account ban

Serious violations involving threats, doxxing, impersonation, copyright abuse, fraud, or targeted harassment may result in immediate removal.

10. Report Problems

Use the reporting tools or contact us if you see:

• A factual error
• Copyright infringement
• Harassment or threats
• Personal information posted without permission
• Impersonation
• Spam or scam links
• Unlabeled sponsored content
• Content that violates these guidelines
